Veracruz,  January, 23 Th, 2012.- Representatives of the Veracruz city council and the Veracruz Port Administration, held an inauguration ceremony upon the completion of the second phase of the Rafael Cuervo avenue, linking Cardel with Veracruz.

The Port Administration's Main Director, Juan Ignacio Fernandez Carbajal, mentioned that the construction job consisted of the removal of the existing layer of asphalt along 1.4 kilometers that was in poor condition, and replacing it with a layer of hydraulic concrete commonly known as "White-topping"

Approximately 9 million pesos were contributed by the Veracruz Port Administration for this project, collaborating with the continuous development of the city.

Fernandez Carbajal also mentioned that the City council is requesting the completion of the final stage of the rehabilitation project for the last section of the Avenue, in both directions, reaching Cuauhtémoc Avenue.

The over 20 million peso project is expected to be completed this year; although the project is still pending approval from the Secretary of Treasury and the Veracruz Port Administration's Council
