Veracruz, November 16 th, 2011.- The Port of  Veracruz Administration, reported  that  from January until through October it’ has been  handled around   16 millions 44 thousand  tonnes of commercial cargo,  petro derivates not included , th’s  number represents an  increase of 9.8 percents compared whim the same period last year.

In an interview Apiver General Manager, Juan Ignacio Fernandez, reported that if this rhythm continues, this year could end with a cargo handle movement record if 19 millions tonnes.

He explained that in this period 1, 540 ships were receive, which  means and increase of 14.4 % compared with  the same period in the year 2010, mean while Pemex Terminal  received ships  around 370 thousand  tonnes of fuels like gasoline and diesel.

He highlighted that all the cargo that goes through  the Port of Veracruz showed a substantial increase in this last ten months, for example, the car momentincreased   28.3 %, liquid bulk 16.1 %, containers 12 % and agro bulk 8 %.
